The Director General of the All Progressives Congress Delta State Governorship Campaign Council, Godsday Orubebe has rejected the claim by an Ijaw leader Alaowei Bozimo that the Ethnic nationality has adopted the PDP Governorship candidate for March 11th 2023 Governorship Election in Delta State.

Speaking in a Meeting of Ijaw Leaders in Warri, Mr Godsday Orubebe stated categorically that it is only the Ijaw National Congress that speaks on behalf of the Ijaw People and not an individual.

He alleged that the Ijaws have not benefitted much from the PDP led Administration since 1999 to deserve such endorsement.

Few Days ago former Minister of Police Affairs, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo who is also a leader of the Ijaw Ethnic nationality said the Ethnic Nationality has adopted the PDP Governorship Candidate in Delta State, Sheriff Oberevwori, ahead of the March 2023 Gubernatorial Poll

But at this meeting of some Ijaw leaders, the Director General of the All Progressives Congress Governorship Candidate in Delta says only the Ijaw National Congress can speak for the Ijaws and clearly such adoption by anybody including Alaowei Broderick Bozimo is null and void.

The Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs further called on all Ijaws in Delta State and elsewhere to vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the current deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, as governor of Delta State for a better deal as the duo will turn the fortunes of the Ijaws around as they have track record that is obvious for anyone who is not blinded by bias to see.

He said the two will not only protect the interest of the Ijaws as an ethnic group in Nigeria and the Niger Delta as a whole but ensure the sustainable development of Nigeria in all ramifications and Shared prosperity for all Nigerians which will help in reducing poverty to the barest minimum.
