Football is the quickest way to chase away poverty-Fuludu

**As COCOSA celebrates massive end of year/ give back in Delta

Former Captain of Green Eagles of Nigeria and old student of College of Commerce, Warri, Edema Fuludu says football is the quickest way to chase away poverty among Nigerians.

Fuludu stated this Sunday December 10, during COCOSA end of year party and special give back project held in Warri Delta State.

He commenced the National President of COCOSA worldwide, Victor Kolawole Enijuni and the entire exco and members for their effort in putting the gathering together as well as donating to assist indigent students in the school.

While appreciating members and Delta State Governor who was special guest at the event expressed delight over the support of the Delta state government to improving infrastructure in College of Commerce Warri, noting that the end of Year Party of College of Commerce Warri Old Students Association, which has come to stay as a yearly routine that the previous administration led by Barr. Ederi Patrick laid the foundation and by the special grace of God his administration is will sustain it with all vigour.

President Enijuni highlighted some of his exco led achievements to include amendment of the COCOSA constitution that reviewed the 200 naira monthly due now 500 naira to kick off January 2024 in order to meet up the present economic realities and new members registration from ₦1500 – ₦2500 has Commenced.

Payment for Marriages increased from ₦10,000 – ₦50,000. Has Commenced immediately, Bereavement of a member increased from ₦50,000 – ₦100,000 and for a member parents also jacked up from ₦20,000 – ₦50,000 it has both Commenced with immediate effect.

Registration of COCOSA in CAC, COCOSA Multipurpose Society, MPCs fully registered and has started operation, donated Computers and carried out Construction of reinforcement of the ICT lab with the purchase of blocks to seal the Ceiling and Iron Rods Protectors to avoid external theft.

According Enijuni, COCOSA has so far contributed immensely in sports development in the School by supporting athletic competition in far away Oyo State, participated in the School inter house sports competition, and provided a High Jump Stand and a Complete Volley ball Equipments as well donated over 100 school uniforms and bags to indigent students and looking forward to building COCOSA Secretariat by support of members.

Representative of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event who’s also Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief Vincent Oyibode, assured that Governor Oborevwori will always carry College of Commerce along in the M.O.R.E agenda.

Barry Gbe an old student of the College and former Commissioner of Economic Planning under immediate past Governor Okowa enjoined members to celebrate and sustain the unity among COCOSA, he reeled out some of the projects executed in College of Commerce under governor okowa to include landscaping, building of teachers toilet ,staff quarters and improvement of infrastructure in the school.

Chairman Board of Trustees, BOT of COCOSA, High Chief Reginald Amadi assured the Association of continuous support in uplifting the school and members, Chief Amadi hailed the transparent display of the President Enijuni and his exco, urging members to always show support to the growth of their Alma Mater.

Vice President, College of Commerce Old Students Association, Mrs. Yemisi Adebisi expressed delight that the end of year party has given her opportunity to meet great personalities that finished from College of Commerce, she appreciated all members for their support and looking forward for greater celebration in year 2024.

The Public Relations Officer, PRO, of College of Commerce Old Students Association, Celestine Ukah described the event as massive and colossal especially with the give back project which promises to be more in coming future.

COCOSA PRO Ukah said he is excited to commune with old school friends after so many years of leaving the secondary school, noting that the celebration is always a panacea to meet people and exchange pleasantries, COCOSA, PRO, Celestine Ukah hinted that the give back project is one of its kind in Warr, he commended members for their support.

The event featured presentation of excellent awards to deserving Old students of COCOSA including Former President Barr. Patrick Ederi, chief Isaac Ewherheremu, Elder Tarhena, Engr. James Adjuga, Rose Vivian, as well as Aruoture Jite.
