Police thwart kidnap attempt on prominent chief in Delta

Police operatives have thwarted a kidnap attempt on a prominent chief at Ogume community in Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, Delta State.

 

Commander of the special police squad, SP Usman Dimka, in a statement said the foiled operation was successful following an intelligence report that also led to arrest of the suspected leader of the syndicate,  27-year-old Chukwuemeka Ochu. He added that investigation is ongoing to track down other members of the gang.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Eagle Squad have also arrested some suspected armed robbers at other operations within Delta  state, Items recovered from them include a stolen vehicle, one pump action gun, two locally made guns, six cartridges and others.
