2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations, BECE In Delta To Commence, Thursday, June 6- Tuesday June 11
Parents urged to ensure their children participate in examination exercise
The 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) in Delta State, earlier postponed due to the industrial action by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, will now commence from Thursday, June 6.
A statement from the Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro, on behalf of the Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, indicated that the examination would end on Tuesday, June 11 2024.
The statement said that the Ministry considered it necessary to take advantage of the one-week suspension of the strike to conduct the examination so as to avoid further delay.
It directed the Chief Inspectors of Education (CIEs) in the 25 Local Government Areas to further inform the school heads of the new dates of Thursday, 6th, Friday, 7th, Saturday, 8th and Monday, 10th as well as Tuesday, 11th June, 2024 for the BECE examinations.
It advised parents to ensure that their children and wards in JS 3 class participated in the examinations.
The statement, however, said that the officials of the Ministry would monitor the examination across the state.
