Emulate Kaduna Chapter, SWAN President, Benjamin, Tasks States

President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin has tasked State chapters to emulate their Kaduna counterpart in organising competitions that will bring members and other journalists together.

According to a statement signed by his SA Media, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available this Sunday, he expressed this on Saturday in Kaduna at the closing ceremony of the SWAN Dr. Mohammed Maina Media Badminton Tournament held August 23 to 24, 2024 at the Exclusive Badminton Club, Kaduna State University (KASU).

“I must commend the Kaduna State Chapter for this laudable initiative. It has brought together our members and other journalists competing for their media houses and chapels of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),” he said.

SWAN President speaking further, advised the Kaduna Chapter to organise more competitions, if possibly, weekly or monthly, to keep members fit and further bond them.

“As you can see, I participated in this tournament and besides the fun I derived, I also won a prize in the doubles category, though I lost out in the singles,” he added.

He commended the sponsor of the tournament for the gesture, while calling on him to expand the next edition to be zonal for the North West.
