The General Manager of Delta Broadcasting Service, DBS, Warri, PST. Malcolm Oteri says Mr. Linus Chima is an epitome of reporting that he learnt from him in the job when he was appointed in DBS.
PST. Oteri stated this Wednesday January 21, 2025 during the sendforth party organised by the Newsroom of Delta Broadcasting Service and other members of staff of the establishment at the Broadcast premises in Warri, Delta State.
The DBS GM, said if not for the power of appointment “we would have said no to let him go” but the power of appointment is very strong and must be complied with hence he’s taking a bow from the service.
PST. Oteri poured encomium on Mr. Chima, describing him as a senior colleague who made him believe that journalism is all about humanitarian service not about money but present economic Reality making the difference.
He congratulated Mr. Chima for successful service after 32 years in DBS and in the media.
Mr. Linus Chima while appreciating colleagues, friends and well wishers at the ceremony charged journalists to be bold, fearless and not be stupid in discharge of their duties.
Mr. Chima a passionate journalist and former Press Secretary to former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State, added that journalism has its own hazard and beauties and that friends can be part of the news making.
Hr commended Engr. Akperi And Justice Mrs. Gladys Akperi, Bishop Peterson Nigeria Idama of Flock of Christ Mission, retired former Head of Civil Service, Delta State, Sir Patrick Origho, Engr. Dibiat, members of State of the Nation DBS Radio programme, Celestine Ukah, Theophilus Onojeghen, Felix Ekwu, Dr. Patrick Edema and other staffers for their support.
Present at the event included DBS staffers, friends and closed family associates all celebrated Mr. Chima with different encomiums about his kind and professional touch put in service as a media guru for spanning over 32 years.
