Ramadan: Closure of schools in some Northern States of Nigeria totally wrong – Dr Shinkafi

The Executive Director of Patriots for Advancement of Peace and Social Development, Dr. Sani Shinkafi, says the closure of schools in some parts of Northern states in Nigeria is totally wrong among the states in that part of the country.

Dr. Shinkafi stressed that even in Saudi Arabia, where the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and other Islamic nations, schools do not shut down during the month of Ramadan, and he wondered why this decision was made by Bauchi, Kebbi, Kano, and other states during Ramadan, as the religious exercise does not affect students’ studies.

Dr. Shinkafi, an Islamic scholar, said there is no reason for such action by some of the governors in the North, urging them to study the Nigerian constitution very carefully and do the right thing by reversing their decision and ordering the reopening of schools in those states.
