Salimon Wits Foundation to Train youths in Delta on renewable energy, climate change advocacy, others

The Salimon Wits Foundation has disclosed plans to train Delta youths on renewable energy and climate change advocacy as parts of its effort to empower and make the youths self dependent.

The Coordinator of the foundation, Amb. Raymond Nduka who disclosed this at a press conference in Ughelli, said it is lunching its 2024 bio-gas and solar energy training for youths between the ages of 18 year to 40 years.

According to Nduka, “Salimon Wits Foundation is a Salt and Light Movement and is a foundation that is focused on the development of youths from the age of 18 years to 40 years. We are into capacity building, leadership skills development and others.

“We are doing this programme in collaboration from two supportive agencies, one of them is LEAP Africa and the other one is Nigerian Youth Future Funds. We are collaborating with them on this green Delta. They are the major sponsors of this green Delta that will soon kick off in Ozoro, Delta State.

On its choice of Delta State, he said, “There are many reasons for picking Delta State, we are talking about green energy, but you will agree with me, most importantly that Delta State is an energy state. And we see fossil fuel burning every now and then in various parts of the state and you see a lot of gas flaring there. And that is impacting on the environment. So we are looking at a situation where we can encourage green energy to combat these very effects.

“In Delta State though we have our turbines here but the electricity system is not relatively stable, so we are looking at a situation where we can make alternative provisions that will first of all solve the epileptic power situation and providing it in a way that such solution so not have negative impact on the society. And that solution is green energy. This is why we decided to bring such noble programs to Delta State.

He explained that, “Salimon and Wits Foundation is lunching the 2024 bio-data and solar change in Nigeria to address the pressing issue of climate change. The initiatives aimed to provide essential skills in renewable energy to the youths of Delta State, fostering youth empowerment, and community wide environmental stewardship.

“Our foundation is committed to empowering young people through educational and skill development in renewable energy, focusing on bio-gas and solar energy system, as well as climate change advocacy. Now the urgency of climate change advocacy is a present reality, impacting lives through rising temperatures, unpredictable weather patterns, floods and draughts.

“In Delta State, coastal erosion, flooding and lots of viral diversity are threatening livelihood today. Addressing climate change requires a shift in mindset and behaviour with advocacy in educating and empowering youths about the importance of renewable energy and climate action that can foster a culture of sustainability across the society today.

“Some of our programme highlights are bio-gas training and solar energy training. The bio-gas training offers a wide solution to waste management and energy solutions. Our training program teaches participants how to design, install and maintain bio-gas system. The system teaches how to convert organic waste into renewable energy.

“The solar energy training is a cornerstone of our renewable energy landscape. Our training will cover installation, repair and maintenance of solar panel. Participants will learn to design inverter systems and calculate power loss.

“On climate change advocacy, we educate participants on the cause and effect of climate change, emphasizing the role of renewable energy in mitigating its impact. Advocacy training equip them with skills in public speaking, community engagements and social media campaigning, by integrating climate change education with practical renewable energy skills with aim to create advocate who can lead and inspire others to take action.”

**As he launches immediate payment of 50, 000 Naira to 10,000.00 Niger Delta youths as measures in tackling hardship

The Senate President Godswill Akpabio never said he and others will be EATING while the protesters will be PROTESTING this is uncharitable for media houses to trend such statements to bring him in conflict with the Nigerian masses. He was only quoting the MD of the NDDC that said the Niger Delta Youths have never had it so good with himself and the Amnesty boss on the saddle that it was a government of the Youths who will not be interested in regime change rather will own the GOVERNMENT and will not protest but rather be eating ! The import of his visit was a declaration that the Nine states of the Niger Delta will not be involved in any protest being the most senior government official from that region he feels their pain and that there is hunger in the land. This event was covered by ARISE TV live

Speaking at the NDDC sponsored youth stakeholders summit in Port harcourt Tuesday 30th July 2024, he reiterated that protest almost led to Anarchy in Kenya and the negative effects is still reverberating. He said while the degradation in the Niger Delta due to oil exploration and exploitation persist there have been no protest. The fact that the government is doing so much to address the situation at hand like the minimum wage bill, passing into law and signing by the President of the Northwest Development Commission, the Southeast Development Commission recently

He launched the immediate payment of 10,000.00 youths to earn instantly N50,000.00 per month. As a way of ameliorating the pains and hardship being experienced but like the pregnant woman that takes nine months to deliver the pains that would accompany the birth of the child is also unbearable.

The people of the Niger Delta have been urged to exercise patience with the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. That one year is not enough to judge the performance the administration

According to Kenny Okolugbo Consultant Communications and Strategy Office of the Senate President the youths where filled with so much joy and excitement and passed a voice vote of no protest and confidence on the Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The empowerment scheme is for those not gainfully employed and it was reiterated that it will be devoid of politics and strictly for the nine states of the Niger Delta all the local government areas and wards

Group Appeals To Dangote To Cease Fueling Protests, Insurrection In Nigeria

Group Appeals To Dangote To Cease Fueling Protests, Insurrection In Nigeria

** Says As Yoruba, They Will Resist Attempts To Topple Government Of Tinubu

An Ibadan based group in Oyo State, the O’Odua Integrity Network (OIN), has appealed to Alhaji Aliko Dangote to cease fueling protests and insurrection in the country.

In a Press Statement signed by Chief Adewale Adeosun ( President) and Mr Ige Kilanko (Secretary), the group passionately appealed to Alhaji Aliko Dangote to immediately cease his unrelenting attacks and incitement against the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying it is crass arrogance to think he can place himself above the elected government.

According to the group, Dangote’s assaults at the administration are unbecoming of him, and it is unacceptable to the Yoruba people

They added that if there was any man that has appropriated everything like spoils of war from Nigeria, it is no other person, but Aliko Dangote, saying that Nigeria has been very fair to Aliko Dangote , “he reaped bountifully while other citizens adjusted their bets to the last of its holes. What else does Dangote want? Probably carry the nation on his head and walk away with it as a private property”.

They noted that they have had enough of his shenanigans as every dog has her day, pointing out that the businessman has profited immensely from the country, sometimes at the expense of other manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and the Nigerian public.

The group accused Aliko Dangote of being the mastermind behind inciting Nigerians against the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration and said that Dangote cannot with a pretentious innocent face and soft mien mask his diabolical intents, labelling him as the schemer at the other side of the curtain and the brain be behind the call to protests and riots by strengthening and giving momentum to cantankerous social media organisers.

They made it clear that they will not watch like helpless widows, while he mobilizes to bring down the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration, saying his actions so far are a threat to national security and stability.

The group claimed that Alhaji Dangote and other caliphate antagonists, as well as some devious forces worked tirelessly against Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 general elections, adding that their current clandestine acts of sabotage are a continuation of the transferred vengeance and hatred designed to frustrate the Asiwaju-led government after failing to defeat him at the poll.

HERE IS THE FULL TEXT FROM THE GROUP:

AN APPEAL TO ALHAJI ALIKO DANGOTE TO CEASE FUELING PROTESTS AND INSURRECTION IN NIGERIA

We, the O’ODUA INTEGRITY NETWORK (OIN), make a passionate appeal to Alhaji Aliko Dangote to immediately cease his unrelenting attacks and incitements against the government of President Bola Tinubu GCFR. It’s crass arrogance to think he can place himself above an elected government. Indeed, his assaults at the administration are unbecoming of him, and it is unacceptable to the Yoruba people. If there is any man that has appropriated everything like spoils of war from Nigeria – it is Aliko Dangote.

Nigeria has been very fair to Aliko Dangote – he reaped bountifully while other citizens adjusted their bets to the last of its holes.

What else does Dangote want?

Probably carry the nation on his head and walk away with it as a private property!

We have had enough of his shenanigans – every dog has her day. The businessman has profited immensely from the country, sometimes at the expense of other manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and the Nigerian public.

We here accuse Aliko Dangote of being the mastermind behind – inciting Nigerians against the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration. Dangote cannot with a pretentious innocent face and soft mien mask his diabolical intents. He is the schemer at the other side of the curtain, the brain be behind the call to protests and riots – strengthening and giving momentum to cantankerous social media organisers.

We won’t watch like helpless widows, while he mobilizes to bring down the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Administration. His actions so far – are a threat to national security and stability.

Alhaji Dangote and other caliphate antagonists, as well some devious forces worked tirelessly against Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 general elections.

Their current clandestine acts of sabotage are a continuation of the transferred vengeance and hatred – designed to frustrate the Asiwaju-led government after failing to defeat him at the poll.

The relentless antagonism, pursuit of power and vendetta will only lead to two things – chaos and destruction – if pushed any further.

A word is enough for the wise. No man has monopoly of destructive tendencies.

The Odua Integrity Network is aware that Dangote and other prominent northern figures are hell bent in their planned protests across the country to bring government to its knees.

However, Nigeria does not belong to a set of people, nor are some citizens second class to others.

President Tinubu supported General Muhammadu Buhari all the way, despite all the General’s warts and flaws – for the eight gruelling years he served as president.

The north cannot in perpetuity impose itself on the rest of Nigerians. So, those pushing to collapse the government of President Tinubu must therefore watch it. It takes two to tangle.

Sadly enough, for personal aggrandizement and greed, the Executive Vice President of the NNPCL is hand in gloves with Aliko Dangote to unseat Engineer Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL.

It is therefore a clear indication of a larger plot to undermine the federal government, create instability, chaos and encourage insurrection across the country.

In the light of the foregoing, we ask Dangote to jettison his unholy intentions and allow President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Engr. Mele Kyari to serve their terms without interference.

As Yoruba, we will resist any attempt to topple the Bola Tinubu government. We will not stand idly by while hooligans and Dangote’s mischievous collaborators attempt to destroy the already delicate fabric of our nation.

We therefore urge Dangote to desist from any further actions and allow peace to reign. Nigeria deserves stability progress and development, and not fear amongst citizens, nor chaos and destruction. We call on all Nigerians to join work for dialogue, peace and stability. Let every hand be on deck and be put to work – to build a brighter and egalitarian future for the nation.

If Dangote insists and continues on his treacherous path, the consequences will be dire and unpalatable for everyone.

To taste the sea all that is required is a little gulp, and not a barrel.

Nigeria will be plunged into endless crisis – the social fabrics will crash and so will its politics and economy.

The people shall be the ultimate losers, and the Dangote brand and legacy will be forever smeared.

We make this final appeal to Alhaji Aliko Dangote to sit back and reconsider his actions. All is well that ends well. Let all Nigerians join hands to build a nation where everyone can thrive and be happy.

Let the interest of the nation be put above personal desperation, vendettas and ambitions.

The fate of Nigeria is in our hands. There is no need to dance naked in the market square. We must not falter, else everything shall be lost.

SIGNED:
CHIEF ADEWALE ADEOSUN
PRESIDENT

MR. IGE KILANKO
SECRETARY
