Senate Passes New Electricity Bill, States individuals others can now generate power without sending to National grid

Senate has just passed a bill for States and Individuals to generate their own electricity without the Obligation to Transfer it to the National Grid to be shared by Federal Govt. People in Lekki can decide to generate their own 24/7 electricity now (maybe 100MW) and keep it for themselves.

The Bill is set to further Unbundle the Power, Sector, Boost Distribution & Enable States to Generate Power & Issue Grid Licences

When Buhari signs it into law, it will be yet another landslide Failure from this Useless Bubu APC Govt abi. Lagos will have been generating their own Power now assuming OBJ allowed Tinubu back then.

We can Focus on Ethnicity, Religion, Zoning or Real Politics & progress like the New Electoral Act being Lauded by Everybody signed by an APC Govt under Buhari’s watch.

Please note these & the Petroleum Industry Bill could not be passed in 16yrs of Glorious PDP Mediocre Misgovernance. No wahala please share thanks Nigeria under Buhari is slowly Working I hope we can have a start on Mambilla 4,000mw Dam before this Administration leaves office.

How Sonia Unobunjo overcame union intrigues ,intimidation to Emerge Delta NAWOJ Chairman

The transited Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo, H.R.M, Sir Emmanuel Okumagba Ii

It was tough and herculean scaling through the July 15 election of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Delta State Chapter. It was not really the winning, which was even landslide that mattered, it was the hurdles created in the way of Comrade Sonia Unobunjo, former Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Delta State Council seen as the most qualified candidate for the position of state NAWOJ Chairman in the election.

It was obvious that the outgone NAWOJ Chairman, Comrade Patricia Gbemudu never wanted Sonia as a result of her strength of character, but instead, preferred and openly worked for a less qualified and cantankerous opponent.

The worst of the scenario was the NUJ Council Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu who was supposed to play the role of a father to all, but condescended so low pitching tent with the Anthonia Mowah’s candidacy over Unobunjo who stepped on toes against all odds and delivered him in his own election in 2020.

In what is generally perceived by teeming union members as serial betrayal and unrepentant ingratitude characteristic of Ikeogwu ,the controversial NUJ chairman was every where before and during the NAWOJ election campaigning against Sonia but he failed woefully . His candidate Mowah scored an abysmal 46 votes while Unobunjo coasted home to victory with 107 votes .

Ikeogwu in complicity with Gbemudu also conspired against Unobunjo at the NAWOJ National Secretariat, using dubious registration of members and various encumbrances to frustrate her, until the Commissioner for Information ,a seasoned Journalist, stepped in, intervened and peacefully resolved the major infraction which centred on the extension of registration for qualified members of NAWOJ.

In an interesting twist of fate, Unobunjo’s campaign and eventual victory were championed by those in the opposing group christened Prize Team during the heated NUJ 2020 election that brought Ikeogwu to office through a very slim margin.

The biggest joy as take away from the NAWOJ election is not only in the landslide victory of 107 against 46, but the overwhelming manner in which Comrade Sonia Unobunjo and her supporters from Prize team and others proved pundits like Gbemudu and Ikeogwu wrong and eventually emerged winner.

The shame is unthinkable because the NUJ Chairman who chested out for his alleged frolicking associate at the isolated press centre, had boasted of throwing a huge party for his candidate at the press centre and Shrine Club after she must have won. Unfortunately, they were disappointed as the members voted for the most accepted and responsible candidate.

Okowa congratulates Osun Governor elect, Adeleke urges Nigerians to stand for good leaders

Delta Governor and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election in Osun.

Adeleke, the candidate of the PDP was announced winner of the gubernatorial contest in the state by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after polling 403,371 votes to defeat the incumbent, governor, Adegboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 375,027 votes.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, on Sunday, Okowa described the election of Adeleke as “the affirmation of Osun people’s will” and called on Nigerians to always stand for good leaders with the interest of the people at heart as Osun people just did for Adeleke.

He stated that the electorate across the 30 local government areas of the state spoke loudly and very clearly in their affirmation of their choice of Adeleke as next governor.

He lauded former governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Senator Olu Alabi and other party leaders in the state for working together in the interest of PDP and Osun people.

Okowa noted that the election of Adeleke had signposted the reality of PDP’s determination to rescue Nigeria, saying “the mission has just begun”.

“Let me congratulate my brother, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the July 16 governorship election in Osun.

“It is heart-warming to see you emerge as Governor-elect of Osun against all odds and I am grateful to the electorate in Osun for shunning entreaties of retrogressive forces who were ostensibly resolved on subverting the wishes of the people through vote-buying and other rigging strategies.

“Let me also thank the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for demonstrating true independence as required by the laws of our land and for improving on the logistics and conduct of the election.

“The most significant aspect of this victory is the peaceful outcome of the election as Osun people conducted themselves responsibly by ensuring that the election was devoid of violence,” he said.

The gôvernor also congratulated the PDP and the Chairman of the its National Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Election and Governor of Bayelsa, Senator Douye Diri and other members of the campaign council for their efforts which culminated to the victory.

He said the brotherhood displayed by PDP governors and other party members towards the election of Adeleke was what the country needed currently to take the nation to greater heights in 2023.

“Let me also congratulate our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Chairman of the PDP National Campaign Council and Governor of Bayelsa, Senator Douye Diri and other members of the campaign Council for their efforts which led to the victory of the party in Osun.

“I must also thank my principal and Presidential Candidate of our great party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, Namadi Sambo and former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, for their attendance at the rally in Osun, an action that contributed immensely to the outcome of the election.

“Going forward as a nation, we can only develop further if the people are allowed to chose their leaders at all levels without any hindrance as has been exemplified in Osun.

“It’s therefore, a clarion call on INEC to strive to do the right thing as an unbiased umpire.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta, I congratulate you my dear brother and friend, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on your successful election as Governor-elect of Osun.

“It is my prayer that God will grant you wisdom, knowledge and the needed resources to attend to your campaign promises of taking away the darkness that pervades your state, Osun,” he added.
