Abia North 2027: “Sen. Kalu has done so well for us, we will mobilize solid support for him” – Rt. Hon. Uchendu
The Chairman Senate Committee on Privatization and Commercialization, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu amongst other strong commendation has received another strong avalanche of words of encomium from the former Deputy Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, ABHA and an influential APC stakeholder, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Uchendu.
Hon. Uchendu thanked Kalu for attraction of Ndi orieke road, and many dividends of democracy he is bringing to Abia North Senatorial District since the inception of his legislative career in 2019 and also prayed that God will bless the Senator for the job well done.
Hon. Uchendu made this known through a video clip which was published on the official social media platform of the Senator Kalu on Thursday, 23rd January, 2024. While speaking, Uchendu affirmed that Kalu have been doing tremendously well for Abia North and they’re happy with his leadership.
Furthermore, Uchendu went on to opine that when Sen. Kalu wishes to contest in 2027, he will mobilize a formidable support base to make sure he cliches the party ticket and goes ahead to win the general election for Abia North Senatorial District.
However, as Oliver twist, Hon. Uchendu pleaded on behalf of Ohafia for Sen. Kalu to intervene in their electricity saga which has turned to a nightmare for them. Uchendu noted that he tried restoring the electricity when he was in office, but it didn’t workout. He called on Sen. Kalu to come to their immediate rescue.
Hon. Uchendu was hopeful that when the former Governor of Abia State receives his message that Ohafia’s electricity will be restored through the intervention of His Excellency.
If you recall, Sen. Kalu has received the Best Senator award from National Assembly Press Corp as the Best Performing Senator amongst 108 senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, consecutively for the past three years. This goes a long way to show that the former 9th Senate’s Chief Whip is consistently adding immense value to his Abia North Senatorial District, unlike what it used to be previously until he became a senator in 2019. The status quo has changed, it is no longer business as usual.
Kalu has given thousands of scholarships to basically Abia North and by extension Nigerian Students to study Medicine and Surgery aboard and in Nigerian Universities of their choice. He has distributed school materials like textbooks, exercise books, and bags to students and has attracted construction of over 100 quality roads, 80 schools, 30 health centers, distributed motorcycles, sewing and grinding machines, generators, wheelbarrows, fertilizers, modern farming and agricultural processing equipment across the breath and length of Abia State North.
Lastly, Sen. Kalu has been consistent in advocating for our youths to go back to the farm and has demonstrated that by encouraging Abia North constituents to engage in large scale agriculture and not just subsistence farming to grow and harvest farm produce they can sell and make a living from

His Excellency I want to also use this opportunity to appeal for your help. We from Ohafia have been having issues of electricity for many years. I tried during my time to restore electricity, but I couldn’t. The present people have tried, they have tried their best, but they couldn’t. So, I am appealing to you my performing Senator to come and restore Ohafia electricity. We need electricity in Ohafia, in fact it is a big problem we are facing now.
You have been doing well for us and we’re very happy with you. Even if you want to come for third tenure we’ll support you, I will support you. I will mobilize people to support you, but His Excellency, come and help us, so, we can have electricity.
I know when you receive this appeal, you will help us. Once again, I thank you very much for the roads and other numerous things you have done for the entire people of Abia North, May God bless you.” Hon. Uchendu asserted”
