ADC Reps Candidate For Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency Condoles With Oru-amaboko Community

The Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Bonny/Degema Federal Constituency in the forthcoming National Election, Rt. Hon Comrade Irene Kaladdapa Jumbo who doubles as the Deputy Speaker of Ijaw Youth Council Parliament (IYC) Worldwide has condoled and empathize with the People of Oru-Amaboko Community over the loss of eight persons and destruction of properties worth billions of naira due to fire outbreak in the community.

Rt. Hon. Jumbo described the incident as unfortunate and regretable incident that took place earlier this week which has caused so much damage to properties as well as human loss of lives. Rt. Hon. Comrade Irene called for a period of mourning for the souls that departed untimely and for caution on handling inflammable materials, adding that the entire Niger Delta is an oil and gas exploration and production region, therefore pollution occasioned by inflammable natural resources should be handled properly.

She called on the Rivers State and Federal Government to come to the aid of people of the community by providing basic and necessary relief materials in order to ameliorate their sufferings as a result of the high level of loss of properties worth billions of naira and the destruction of countless means of livilihoods especially small and medium scale business (SMEs).

The ADC Candidate for the House of Reps Election also called on Government regulatory agencies in the oil and gas sector and the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources to ensure that multinational and indigenous oil and gas companies provide enough amphibious fire fighting equipments and machineries which can operate within the Creeks so as to respond timely and efficiently on such incidents in the Riverine Areas to save lives and properties.
