Agbor Tanker explosion: Dr. Agbolayah mourns victims, describes situation as tragic

 

Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Community Development, Amb. Dr. Toyin Agbolayah JP, has expressed pain over the tragic loss of lives and properties in a fire incident caused by a fallen diesel tanker in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the state.

The fire incident, caused by the fallen diesel tanker suffering brake failure at a traffic light junction in Agbor, claimed at least four lives and left three others injured.

In a statement at Asaba Monday January 6, 2025, Dr. Agbolayah extended his heart-felt condolences to the families of those affected by the ugly incident.

He stated thus “I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences in light of the tragic fire incident that occurred in Agbor on Sunday.

“Reports indicate that a diesel tanker suffered a brake failure, resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives and injuries sustained.

“With deep sorrow, I extend my sympathies to the families of those affected, especially those that lost their lives. I also pray for the departed souls and for the speedy recovery of those injured.

“May the families find solace in the love and support surrounding them, and may the cherished memories of their loved ones bring them some comfort as they navigate their grief.”

“I want to specially commend the the loving people of Ika South local government area, the fire service and security agencies who rallied round to put off the inferno and their dedication to assisting those affected by the tragic fire incident.

“My appreciation also goes to His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for swinging into action immediately by directing the state Ministry of Health, the State Emergency Management Agency and other relevant authorities to provide much-needed support to all victims, as well as sending a delegation led by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme to condole with the affected families.”
