HAJJ 2024: Fubara’s financial assistance to intending pilgrims speaks volume of his religious tolerance, Says Hajiya Zainab
**Commends Rivers Gov. for clearing off 1.9m Increment Hajj Fare for Muslims Ummah
The Federal Commissioner representing South-South at the National Hajj Commission Hajiya Musa Zainab has applauded Governor Siminalayi Fubara for subsidizing additional payments for intending pilgrims from Rivers State.
According to Hajia Musa Zainab , Governor Fubara’s financial assistance to intending pilgrims speaks volume of his religious tolerance among different religions in the state.
It would be recall that about 50,000 intending pilgrims that have paid the initial fare of N4.9 million were asked to pay additional N1.9 million. The upward review of Hajj 2024 fare was however necessitated by the new Exchange rate as against N897:00 to a Dollar that was originally benchmarked.
Due to the economy realities, sourcing for money to pay additional N1.9 million became impossible for the intending pilgrims across the country. Realizing the importance of the holy pilgrimage to the Muslims, His Excellency, Governor Fubara stepped in to provide financial succour for Rivers State intending pilgrims.
Commenting further on this development, the NAHCON Commissioner urges other states in the zone such as Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta and Edo, governors to emulate the kind gesture of the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. Citing that such well-intentioned financial assistance rendered by the Governor to the intending pilgrims speaks volumes of his religious tolerance and love among the various faith in the state and country.
Speaking further, the South-South Commissioner said that she is well briefed that the Rivers State Governor has been carrying the Muslim Ummah in Rivers State along since the inception of his administration, She noted that amongst many kind gestures, Governor Fubara supports mosques with donations and food provisions for fasting Muslims in the ongoing Ramadan.
The South- South Commissioner at the NAHCON Zainab Musa, prays that “may Almighty Allah in his infinite mercy continue to protect the Governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara”.
