Delta: IGP Egbetokun Commissions Ugborikoko Police Station built by TANTITA Security Services
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun has officially Commissioned Ugborikoko Police Station built by TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
IGP Egbetokun was flanked by the Delta State Commissioner of Police,CP Olufemi Abaniwonda during the exercise.
IGP Egbetokun who was represented by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police,AIG Zone 5, AIG Salma Dogo Garba, commended TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited and the Managing Director,High Chief Kestin Pondi for the supports as well as making the project possible.
IGP Egbetokun described the building as significant efforts at strengthening the safety, security and properties of the people of the area.
While highlighting the roles of the Police including maintaining law and order, IGP Egbetokun added that the newly built Police station will bring the Police nearer to the people.
To the officers and men of the Ugborikoko Division,IGP Egbetokun said,”This will serve as a place for more than just a place to work to the Police.”
The IGP also noted that the donation also reflects not only a commitment to the well being of the community but also a deep trust in the role the police force plays in maintaining peace, law and order.
The IGP assured all that the new police station is not just a place where officers will work but also a place where the people can engage positively with the Police, and work together to build a safer and stronger community.
IGP Egbetokun commended the Managing Director of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited for the support at securing critical government infrastructures as well as contributing to the development of the nation.
In an address, the Managing Director of TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Limited,High Chief Kestin Pondi said,”It was all celebrations and excitement as the good people of Ugborikoko community in Uvwie LGA witnessed the commissioning of the newly built Ugborikoko Modern Police Station.”
According to High Chief Pondi,”The building which was built and furnished by Tantita security service Nigeria LTD contains state of the art facilities which includes a constructed quarter guard post, a dedicated generator house, drainage construction to ensure a healthy and safe environment, and reconstruction of the police hall giving it a modern and functional design.
“The commissioned project also includes two hilux vehicles for operational mobility, 30KVA soundproof generator and a 30KVA solar system to ensure uninterrupted power supply, CCTV cameras and computer systems to enhance surveillance and digital operations, television sets, air-conditioning units, fully equipped conference room and interrogation room.”
High Chief Kestin Pondi stated that as a private security with local roots and global reach, Tantita Security service Nigeria LTD understands that no society can thrive without peace and security.
He also noted that peace and security is a result of collaboration between the community and the government and the first line of defense of preserving peace in Nigeria is the Nigeria Police Force, therefore the decision to build the Police station is a mark of Tantita’s commitment to rebuild the peace in Warri and improve the security of lives and properties for all residence in warri, effurun and environs.
The building was commissioned by the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun Phd, NPM represented by the AIG Zone 5 AIG Salman-Dogo Garba Psc. Also in attendance was His Excellency the Governor of Delta State Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori who was represented by the Secretary to state Government Dr Kingsley Emu, The commissioner of Police Delta State CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, the representative of the commissioner of Police Oyo State Command, CP Johnson Adenola, other senior officers which includes two Deputy commissioner of Police, Assistant commissioner of Police, the DPO Ugborikoko Division CSP Temi Agbede Zuokuomor, Traditional rulers, religions leaders amongst others.
Earlier, the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Omosetemi Agbede Zuokumor(Mrs.) said,”When I assumed my duties on 10th June, 2024, I faced a daunting reality: the previous police station structure was in a challenging state, unworthy of the dedicated men and women who serve within its walls.
“Recognizing this pressing need for transformation, I reached out to my kongtime friend and brother-in-law, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Ltd.
“His unwavering support for our vision of a new modern police station has been instrumental in bringing this dream to fruition.
“Today, as we stand before this impressive structure officially inaugurated with the laying of its foundation on 10 July 2024, we celebrate the culmination of seven months of tireless effort and dedication.”
According to CSP Zuokumor,”This edifice is not merely a building; it is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the safety and security of our community. In addition to this beautiful structure TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Ltd built and furnished the gatehouse, which accommodates the Sil, surveillance, and station guard offices.
“They also renovated and furnished the divisional hall, provided two Hilux vehicles for the division, installed concrete stamp flooring in the compound, and set up a 30 kVA inverter and a 30 kVA Mikano generator Furthermore, we now have cutting-edge cameras with ultra-modern monitors, a well-equipped interrogation room in line with the new Administration of Criminal Justice Act-which mandates that all confessional statements must be recorded-and a tactical conference room within this beautiful edifice
“The new Ugborikoko Police Station is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities designed to improve our operational efficiency and enhance the capabilities of our officers. We are now better positioned to serve the citizens of Uvwie and its environs.
“This project reflects a substantial investment in our police assets, and I am excited about the opportunities it presents for collaboration with our community. It symbolizes a renewed commitment to building trust and fostering relationships with the citizens we serve.”
CSP Zuokumor thanked the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Egbetokun for his unwavering support and vision for a better Police Force.
She also thanked the Delta State Commissioner of Police,CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, for giving her the opportunity to serve as the Divisional Police Officer of Ugborikoko Division and for always following up on every stage of the project with the encouraging words, “We are proud of you”.
CSP Zuokumor also said,”I extend my sincere thanks to TANTITA Security Services Nigeria Ltd for their generous contributions to this project from start to finish. To High Chief (Engr) Kestin Ebimorbowel Pondi,TSSNL, you are a visionary leader transforming you our selfless Baba K.”
While thanking officers and men of Ugborikoko Police Station, for standing by her with the inconveniences, and contributed their efforts to the success of this project. “The partnership has made a lasting impact on our ability to serve effectively.
High point of the event was the official commissioning of the Police station by IGP Kayode Egbetokun who was represented by AIG Salma Dogo Garba.
