Economic sabotage: NSCDC arrest boats carrying over 180, 000 litres of illegally refined petroleum products

Men of the newly inaugurated Commandant General Special Anti Vandal Monitoring Unit led by a Deputy Commandant Of Corps DCC Samson Brah have arrested a boat containing about 100,000 thousand litres of petroleum product suspected to be Automated Gasoline Oil (AGO. It was revealed that the Oil thieves took their heels upon sighting men of the NSCDC Special Quad.

The said boat was arrested at the Pessu Water Side area in Warri South LGA, , Delta State.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Delta State NSCDC Command. DSC Emeka Peters Okwechime, in another development Men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ughelli South Division, On June 13, 2022 on a tip off under taken by Men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, the Niger Delta Freedom Fighter, and the Nigeria Army to Avocados creek where suspected vandals were said to be vandalising Shell pipes, where a local boat containing about 41piece of pipes was intercepted at Okologba community in Patani local Government on the above date while suspects were at large and that Investigation is still on going to track them down.

The Commandant General Special Anti Vandal Monitoring Unit also bursted an illegal dump site in Udu LGA of Delta State where over 80,000 liters of petroleum product suspected to be illegally refined Automated Gasoline Oil AGO was hidden in under tanks.

He assured that those behind the economic sabotages in different parts of the state will be arrested, noting that investigation is currently on to apprehend them and their sponsors.
