Members of the Association of Bakers of Nigeria, FCT Chapter have threatened to go on strike action in pressing forward for quality service and reduction in running cost for their business in the federal capital territory as well in Nigeria.
The Chairman of Association of Master Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria (AMBCN) Abuja Chapter, Ishaq Abdulraheem, raised the alarm Saturday June 25, 2022 during an exclusive interview on a National TV network news, the Chairman stated further that there’s no adequate produced flower in Nigeria and that as result of it, they rely mostly on the imported flowers into the country.
Abdulraheem stressed that with the adverse effect of the Russia-Ukraine War no easy access to raw materials coming from that part of the world which happens to be the biggest exporter of flower in the world and that even India also not willing to export their flower to other countries.
He called on the Nigerian government to invest more into the flower chain and help subsidies the product , noting that with improvement in the agricultural sector by opening the locally made cassava flower it will serve as good measure to tackle the shortage of wheat and flower in FCT as well as the entire Nation.
