Oborevwori Assures DELSU of  More Infrastructural Development

**As DELSU graduates 6,401, 101 first Class

The Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has promised to improve on the infrastructural development and welfare of staff of the Delta State University, DELSU Abraka.

Governor Oborevwori gave this assurance during the 17th Convocation ceremony of the University in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

To start with, Governor Oborevwori has revoked the contract of DELSU Senate Building that has been under construction for the past 12 years and ordered it to be rewarded for speedy completion.

Governor Oborevwori also called on private sector, corporate organizations as well as wealthy individuals to support the development of the University and commended DELSU for its commitment to research, teaching and regular training of staff for competence.

He congratulated the graduates of DELSU and urged them to use the various knowledge they acquired to better their lives and contribute positively to the development of the society.

“Be an agent of positive change, contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria and the world, be a good ambassador of DELSU and Delta State. Continue to improve in your education and pursue your desired goal. Make good use of available opportunities and become a better person and contribute to our nation’s development.”

In his address, the Delta State University Vice Chancellor, Professor Samuel Ogheneovo Asagba said that DELSU is ranked 20th position among the over 300 universities in Nigeria and 3rd among States Universities.

Professor Asagba said that the management and staff of DELSU are working cordially with regular promotion and a good welfare programme, adding that DELSU would continue to provide a conducive environment and cordial relationship between students, staff and management.

He called on the DELSU Alumni Association to continue to support the school. Professor Asagba stated that DELSU has keyed into the MORE Agenda of the state government.

“We want the government to assist to foster, promote and accelerate the attainment of the objectives of quality teaching, research, innovations and public service of the school.”

DELSU graduated a total of 6,401 students with 101 of them bagged First Class.
