PDP chieftain, Araro cherishes Governor Oborevwori ‘s Awards
A frontline member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, Comrade Dennis Araro , has savoured the recent media awards to the Governor of Delta State,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Araro said the awards were a testimony to the credible performance of the governor since the inception of his administration 20 months ago.
The PDP chieftain, in a chat with the media, said the recent awards by the New Telegraph media group and the ThisDay/ Arise Television organization, were a true reflection of the actual performance of Oborevwori.
Both awards had been conferred on Oborevwori for fiscal discipline and infrastructural development for the outgone year 2024.
According to Araro, it was no coincidence that the various organizations reached the same verdict as The Pointer, the state government newspaper group, which had earlier honoured the governor for the same cause.
He particularly recalled the  recent approval at a single session of the State Executive Council (EXCO) for the construction of 76 different infrastructure projects across the three senatorial districts and 25 local government areas of the state, saying it was unprecedented in the annals of any state in the country.
The projects, which span different sectors of the infrastructure spectrum, are to cost N275billion.
Araro noted that aside from the huge cost outlay and the wide span of the projects, the fact that the administration had provided a 40 per cent upfront mobilisation for the contractors, was elating.
He attributed the capacity of the administration to mobilise the contractors with such a huge sum without having to borrow to the fiscal discipline of the governor.
Araro urged other political and other leaders of the society to emulate Oborevwori with regard to adherence to due process and cost-efficiency.
The PDP chieftain urged the governor to sustain his missionary commitment to transparency in the larger interest of the public.
Araro added that the governor deserved the support of all Deltans to continue to deliver quality service from the MORE Agenda.
