“I Mrs. Amos. Funmilola Esther, the wife of Mr. Ajayi. Ilori Amos is here with a grieving heart writing to report an attack. The incident happened in the early hours of the morning around 3am on the 13th of November 2024.1 and my last child Eliora were at home because all the children I have in boarding school because of the attack my husband Ajayi Ilori Amos always get, so I decided to put them in boarding school for security purpose, neither do I come out too, even if I do am always in the vicinity, but I thought everything was over after one year my husband traveled. I went to harvest in the church on the 10th of November 2024 I guessed that was where some people saw me, I never knew they were still looking for pastor Amos’s family after he has travelled more than one year. That faithful day, I heard some people saying, If your husband is not around, he ran to Canada, his family cannot hid forever. If we cannot see him we’ll get his family.
“They said you cannot hide forever, we finally got the information, we are everywhere, I started shivering and was confused, I don’t know what to do, I took the back door to escape, there was no light so I use my phone to help me manage to see, but I left my child in the room because if I should take her along, she would be crying and they will run after us and kill the two of us, so I ran into the bush to hide there for some time before remembering to call one of my husband’s friend, Mr. Ola to come and pick me up a nd also called Pastor Adeleye, when we got back to the house, I found my child some how and quickly rushed her to the nearest hospital, General hospital Ekhwerhe village but they didn’t attend to us we decided to rush to another hospital that was when the child was confirmed dead.
“I have been hiding myself and living in fear ever since 2022. Please to whom it may concern, I and my children are not safe anymore, as am writing this letter am in tears and agony with grip of fear, I don’t know where to run to, because in Nigeria nowhere is safe, as safety and security is not guaranteed, as at now I stay with my husband’s friend, please for how long will I be hiding and living in fear and sorrow, am so afraid I don’t want to die, please help to save me and my remaining children, no one knows their next move of action.”
She’s also appealing to the international community to come to their aid to extend safety and further support to her family.
