Sonia won landslide, emerges Chairman NAWOJ Delta chapter

Comrade Sonia Unobunjo of Delta Broadcasting Service Warri has won in landslide the 2022 Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ Delta State chapter election.

Comrade Sonia Unobunjo Friday July 15, 2022, emerged as the NAWOJ Delta chapter with 107 votes defeating her rival, Anthonia Mowah with massive margin she got 46 votes from the poll.

Group of Professional Journalists, GPJ, who hailed the election of Comrade Sonia Unobunjo, described the new Delta NAWOJ chairman as a true professional, competent, accountable, transparent and a distinguished personality who can always deliver in the assignment ahead.

Spokesperson of GPJ, Comrade Celestine Ukah, stressed that the experience of Comrade Sonia Unobunjo speaks volume especially when she was Acting Chairman, Delta NUJ her leadership produced the state NUJ compendium used for the election in 2020 as first female State Acting Chairman of the union in Delta.

Comrade Ukah commended NAWOJ Boss, Comrade Sonia Unobunjo qualities, he on behalf of the group congratulated all female Journalists for their peaceful conduct and the unanimous victory which will move the association forward.

GPJ urged the new NAWOJ chairman to work with all, appealed to the members to cooperate with the new executive in order to achieve excellence going forward.
