The Bayelsa Chapter of the New Associates for the Support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the FCT Minister, Barr. Ezewo Wike, has postponed their inauguration, which was supposed to take place today, 12th April 2025.
The new Associates convener, George Turnah, clarified that the new Associates across the state is for their unwavering support, encouragement, and solidarity for President Tinubu and the FCT Minister Wike. He also used the medium to thank the people of Bayelsa State and the Ijaw nation for the mass movement aimed at the empowerment of the people.
Turnah made this statement when the new Associates held a press briefing in his country home, Otiotio, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
George Turnah, who was an ally to Governor Douye Diri, debunked the speculated rumor that there is a court injunction from the Bayelsa State High Court to stop the proposed rally, stating that it is a fallacy and that no paper or letter has been served to him by the Attorney General of the state, Breyie Dabo, or any other person, as he claims.
The group convener, George Turnah, emphasized, clearing the air that he is not the legitimate PDP South-South Zonal Secretary, challenging the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Hon. Solomon Aguanana, to rethink the issue. He also used the medium to announce the new date for the inauguration, which is 26th April.
According to Turnah, the change of the new date is a result of some groups holding rallies for solidarity for Douye Diri and Aminu Tambuwal at the same venue, expressing that this contributed significantly to the postponement of their own proposed rally, which has been shifted to 26th April 2025.
