CAF Confederations Cup : Enyimba battle Zamalek of Eqypt in a four goals gameĀ
Nigeria’s only hope on the continent, Enyimba, came from 2 goals down to salvage a draw against Zamalek Sporting Club of Egypt in Group D matchday 2 of the CAF Confedeartions Cup at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Cairo giants came out strong, with Tunisian striker Seifeddine Jaziri breaking the deadlock f in the 33rd minute.
Just seven minutes later, Omar Faraj extended the lead with a close-range finish.
However, The People’s Elephant fought back before halftime, with Ifeanyi Ihemekwele scoring past the onrushing keeper Mohamed Awad before Chinedu Chukwu salvaged a point for the hosts with a deflected strike outside the penalty area in the 58th minute.
Enyimba will return to action in Group D matchday 3 on Sunday, 15th, December, 2024 when they will travel to Mozambique in a date with Black Bulls.
