Nigeria breaks over 30 years female wrestling record in Accra, win more gold medals

It was a breaking of over 30 years record for Nigerian female wrestlers at the Accra African Games where team Nigeria won six gold medals out of six events.

In 1991 at Nigeria freestyle men won ten gold out of ten events at the African Games in Cairo, Egypt.

Olympic silver medalist Blessing Oborodudu won her third gold at the ongoing Games, having won it in 2015 and 2019.

Similarly, World medalist Odunayo Adekuoroye first game since the lost of her mother who passed last year came out on top to make it three (3) Afican Games gold after 2015 and 2019 respective triumph.

Also young sensations like Mercy Genesis and Esther Kolawole got gold in their first outing at the African Games while Ogunsanya Christiana also got gold in her debut outing.

According to the Media Assistant NWF, Promise Okotoko, Hannah Reuben won her first ever gold medal having lost in the final in 2015 to add to the already flourishing list of gold for Team Nigeria.
