Nigeria is a repository of talented footballers but lacks will to discover them- Kama

A call has been made by one of the grassroot football proponents who doubles as project Manager of Rising Stars Football League , RSFL, Abuja, Mr Ifeanyi Kama.

Kama, while urging Nigerians to start investing in grassroots football to enable them discover budding talents in their local domains said bringing young minds from nowhere attracts optimum benefits.

The Abuja based football icon stated this while featuring in a leading WhatsApp group, *Sports World Platform* yesterday (Sunday) during a weekly interview session tagged *Super Interview* which was co anchored by Ibadan based Sports journalist, *Sunday Agunbiade* popularly known as Mr VAR and Lagos based journalist, *Wale Oye*

The soft spoken administrator advocated for an aggressive youth engagement which will be in form of catch them young and give them a sense of direction.

He stressed the need to invest more by creating a viable and sustainable league format that would be churning out talents monthly or quarterly for marketing drive.

According to him, Ifeanyi said:

“Our 1994 and 1996 were predominantly products of grassroots and we can still get Leonel Mesi and Christiano Ronaldo of this world in our league if we can really go deeper with intentional investment”

Ifeanyi added that they have already transgered players abroad and urge stakeholders to replicate same in their domain. “I think there is need to engage youths the more as good number of our boys have already traveled abroad from Rising Stars Football league. Some of those discovered from Rising Stars league have already traveled abroad. Imagine, if we did not present such opportunity, what do you think would have happened to their talents? Ifeanyi Kama asked rhetorically.
