The National Triennial Delegates Congress to elect new leadership into the National Executive Committee of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is to be held from June 27th to 30th, 2023 in Rivers State.
The Congress is scheduled to take place at the Krisdera Hotel, Omoku, headquarters of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Members of SWANECO and the National Executive Committee as well as aspirants for various offices are to arrive on the 27th of June, while statutory delegates are expected on June 28th, 2023.
Appeals of candidates from the screening by SWANECO would be entertained in the evening of June 27th, 2023.
While June 28th, 2023, is for the release of final results from the screening and manifesto by candidates aspiring to the various offices.
The election of officers into the National Executive Committee and Swearing-In is billed to hold on Thursday, June 29th, 2023.
According to the Chairman SWANECO, Sunny Ogele and Secretary, Alambo, Datonye Fred, SWANECO regrets the delays experienced in the electioneering process as a result of the general elections in the country, noting that fasting periods, the postponed National Population Census and the forthcoming Swearing-in of elected government officials, among others.
Further assured that details of the timetable and any other developments on the Triennial Delegates Congress will be made known in due course.
